U19s Play North Kildare in Friendly

The Edenderry u19's travelled to Kilcock to face North Kildare in a friendly, in what was there first full game of the season. The squad were looking to build towards their first competitive game against Longford next weekend.

Edenderry were in control early on and gained good field position. After a number of phases near the oppostion line, good hands from the edenderry backs led to winger Ronan Healy touching down in the left corner, with the extras added by fly half Robert Holt. Soon after, following a 5 metre scrum a well worked back move resulted in a try for centre George Papageorgiou, with Holt again on target with the conversion.

North Kildare replied with a try of their own off an intercept which they converted. Edenderry upped their performance in the second half and were rewarded with three further tries, two from lock Brian Holt, and one from flanker Evan Murphy. All three tries were from close range after more good work from the pack. Robert Holt converting two of the three. Edenderry host Longford in their first Leinster League game next weekend.

Final score North Kildare 7-33 Edenderry.
