Edenderry Rugby Club

On Saturday 12/12/09 four players from Edenderry’s under 17 side represented the club on a Midland Under 16 development team which played a Maynooth schools selection in NUI Maynooth. 

The midland selection started the game with great pressure and pace to take the lead. They lead well at half time but the high pace seemed to take its toll as the Maynooth selection ran in some soft tries and took the win on the final whistle 31 – 26.

Edenderry players involved: Peter Connolly (scrumhalf – 6pts. –3 con.), Mark Rushe (hooker), Issac Cairns (wing) and Lesley Cronin (loose head prop).

On Saturday 12/12/09 four players from Edenderry’s under 17 side represented the club on a Midland Under 17 side which played the North midlands area team.

From the start the Midland team showed their dominance and soon ran the scores in a fast and physical game that showed the range of talents these players have been developing. The Midlands team took their first victory in four years with a decisive 36 – 0 win over North Midlands.
