Edenderry U10 boys travelled to Mullingar for their second blitz of the season on Saturday 12th December.
First up for the team was a Mullingar side. Edenderry played some fantastic team rugby and ran out winners on a score line of 4 tries (Aaron Mangan 1, Cathal Farrell 1 & Aaron Stones 2) to 2. Three of the tries were from top class team play.
The second team they faced was a strong side from the Midland Warriors. This was an extremely tough encounter but ferocious tackling and clever play saw Edenderry triumph by 5 tries (Lorcan O’Reilly 2, Harry Justin 2 & Cathal Farrell 1) to 2.
The final match was to prove to be the toughest of the day. Mullingar fielded a very strong and physical team. The Edenderry lads had to dig very deep. On a number of occasions it looked as though Mullingar might win this match but the never say die attitude of this bunch of lads saw them drawing the match 3 tries (Lorcan O’Reilly 1 & Cathal Farrell 2) apiece.
All players showed great improvements since their first outing in Tullamore especially in their team play and tackling. An exciting new year awaits them if they keep improving at such a rate.
The full panel on the day was, Sean Kavanagh, Cian Daly, Joshua Kavanagh, Richard Gill, Ross Gill, Aaron Stones, Cathal Farrell, Sean Bannon, Aaron Mangan, James Young, Luke O’Neill, Richie Coffey, Lorcan O’Reilly, Adam Hanlon, Sean McCann and Harry Justin.
