Edenderry RFC held the opening ceremony for the new conditioning center on Sunday last and the club was very proud to have Irish Lion Luke Fitzgerald down for the occasion as the guest of honour.
Ireland and Leinster star Fitzgerald was very impressed with the work which has been put into the center and explained how fitness, especially muscular fitness, plays such an important role in the modern game of rugby.
The Leinster Branch of the IRFU was represented by the Senior Branch Secretary Mr. Des Kavanagh, and the Junior Secretary Mr. Trevor Merrey. Dave Fagan, Derek Maybury, Dermot O’Mahony (all from the Leinster Branch) and the President of Tullamore RFC Mr. Sean Joyce were also in attendance.
The day was a great success and was very well supported by the members and supporters of the club and it was a great treat for the upcoming stars of the Edenderry underage teams to meet one of their idols.
