Mullingar from the re-start scored another try which they failed to convert. Edenderry put pressure on the Mullingar line and Stephen Potterton went over just before the interval, only to be disallowed referee said he was unsighted.

5 minutes into the half Mullingar scored a breakaway try which they converted to increase their lead to 26-7.
Thereafter Edenderry started to play with some confidence and Brian O’Carroll scored a brilliant individual try which he converted. Edenderry were now on top and Kenny Dunne scored a try which O’Carroll also converted. Edenderry continued to dominate with the forwards & backs combining and this pressure was rewarded 5 minutes from time when David Hurst scored in the corner. Brian O’Carroll missed the difficult conversion to leave the scores level at 26 points apiece.
With 2 minutes left Mullingar scored the winning try to leave the final score Mullingar31 Edenderry 26.
The new coaching regime can take a lot of heart from this performance and with more emphasis on tackling in training this could have been a different result.
